Spilling My Coffee

Spilling My Coffee

(Killing Me Softly - Roberta Flack)

Texting my phone with one hand

Steering my car with my knee

Spilling my coffee on my lap

Spilling my coffee on my lap

Driving and drinking is so absurd

Spilling my coffee on my lap

I heard they made a good cup

So I just had to dash

So through the Macca's drive thru

And surrendered up my cash

And there it was, this hot cup

And to my surprise

Texting my phone with one hand

Steering my car with my knee

Spilling my coffee on my lap

Spilling my coffee on my lap

Driving and drinking is so absurd

Spilling my coffee on my lap

I felt all flush with fever

Embarrassed by the stain

I felt the scalding coffee

And overcome by pain

I prayed that it would finish

But it just kept right on

Texting my phone with one hand

Steering my car with my knee

Spilling my coffee on my lap

Spilling my coffee on my lap

Driving and drinking is so absurd

Spilling my coffee on my lap

The moral to this story

In all my dark despair

While driving don’t drink coffee

Or else it you’ll wear

And it will keep on stinging

This coffee hot and strong

Texting my phone with one hand

Steering my car with my knee

Spilling my coffee on my lap

Spilling my coffee on my lap

Driving and drinking is so absurd

Spilling my coffee on my lap
