Fix of Caffeine

 Fix of Caffeine

(Sounds of Silence – Simon and Garfunkel)

Hello caffeine my old friend

I've come to worship you again

Because it's early morning

And the sun is slowly dawning

And the light just hurts my eyes

it's no surprise

I need my fix of caffeine.

From restless dreams I wake alone

And I let out a mournful moan

Put the coffee in the pot

I need something strong and hot

When my nerves were spared by the taste of a hot, long black

No turning back

With my fix of caffeine

And in the naked light I saw

43 beans, maybe more

Pouring my cup without spilling

Trying to avoid overfilling

I need it now like never before

Just one more

I need my fix of caffeine

Fools ,said I you do not know

How this addiction grows

it's the only thing constant

So bad I even drink instant.

And my nerves they feel so electric

Even with my fix of caffeine.

Now I daily bow and pray

To the caffeine god I've made

And he helps me out each morning

To wake me up when I am yawning

Then I stop and get another on the way to work

The coffee’s “perked”

Still need my fix of caffeine.
