Father's Day Poems

My Dad and I share a special bond

A bond that can’t be broken

A bond surpassing all others

A love that was unspoken

I remember years ago at the beach

You led me along the sand

Even when the waves come crashing down

You never let go my hand

But even now with time gone past

You’re still there to lead the way

Guiding me along that treacherous path

So I never stray

~~~###~~~
Dad, I know you’re watching over me
I know that you still care
Even though you’re long gone
I still feel you there
I treasure our time together
And all the things we did
The good times and the bad
When I was just a kid
~~~###~~~

I can hardly understand it

And yet I know it’s true

I don’t know where you find the time

To do the things you do

It was always one sided

And yet you always showed me grace

There’s one thing left to say

Dad, I think you’re ace

~~~~###~~~
On Father’s Day I recall
All the things you did for me
Teaching me how to ride a bike
And helping me climb a tree
For reading to me in bed at night
And helping me with my prayers
Wiping away my tears and fears
And easing all my cares
Helping me to grow up to be
The man I am today
With Christ in me and me in he
Following in his way
For all these things
And more I say
Thank you and have
A fantastic Father’s Day
